Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET)

Embryo Freezing or Cryopreservation is a process in which the experts are using unused embryos for future use. The process of transferring the frozen embryo into the uterus is called Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET).

In the process of embryo freezing, the unused embryos are kept under -196° Celsius in a nitrogen tank. A Cryoprotectant is a liquid that is used in the embryo freezing process to protect the embryos from ice crystal formation during freezing.

Process of FET: –

• Preparation of Uterus for optimal receptivity
• Administration of pills & 2-3 scans starting from day 2 of the cycle
• Vaginal progesterone 2-3 days before Thawing & Transfer date
• ET process is very simple & similar to the earlier one
